    Hiking Time: 6 hours

  • Please note: We won't wait for any latecomers.
  • Quota: 10 participants

  • What to Bring: *Proper* hiking footwear, a big lunch, snacks, sunscreen, bugspray (lots of bugs on this hike!), camera, water (minimum 2L), water-repellent jacket, some cash.
    We will not stop on the way, so participants *must* come prepared. Mokuyokai reserves the right to turn away unprepared participants.
    All participants must sign a waiver form at the meeting spot.

  • Car Pooling:
    Please give your driver a minimum of $15 for gas
    (you can decide a fair amount with your driver.)
    Mokuyokai arranges car-pooling on a first come, first serve basis. For example, if someone RSVPs and can drive 3 people, the first three people who signed up get a lift.

  • Where: Garibaldi Lake [Rating* C-3]
    Difficulty: Intermediate - Difficult (While it is not as steep as the Grouse Grind or the Squamish Chief, there is still a significant elevation gain. Only fit hikers should participate.)
    Time: 7 hours
    Distance: 18km (return)
    Elevation Gain: 820 meters

    7:15am - 6pm (including transportation and hiking)

    Please note that the weather can change quickly and given the elevation gain, the temperature is significantly cooler near the Lake.

RATING SYSTEM:
Difficulty:
A = flat or/and portion of gradual incline (ex. City walk, Deep Cove)
B = consistent gradual incline
C = gradual incline with steep sections

Time:
1 = less than 2 hours
2 = 2 to 4 hours
3 = more than 4 hours
